Parish Of Maria Regina
in the beginning of our parish goes to the years when world war 11 finished when this part of Marsa started to get developed and as a result the population started to grow quickly and the parishioners found that the Holy Trinity Church was some distance and some use to go to Samra Church because it was closer.

This situation was not favourable with the Kappillan and he realised a second Church was needed in Marsa or even a chapel to serve those people. Kappillan of Marsa Patri Felicjan Bilocca started work on a project and wanted to resolve the matter quickly.
In October of 1955 land was purchased at the end of Isuard Street so a new church will be build on it. January 1957 another peace of land was purchased so the church could be build wider and bigger to accommodate our Parishioners.

Church Plans Drawn Up
The plans was drawn up by Mr Guze Damato P.E.P. and on the 2nd February ,1958 the foundation stone was blessed layed by the same Kappillan Bilocca as a delegate of the Arch Bishop Michael Gonzi because during those days was indisposed. The Population of Marsa was all told to make contributions and many volunteers come to pick money each week door knocking when the monies started coming work soon started.

Because the project to build the church was going to take only a few years to be ready, and the Kappillan knew that this was the case he was then looking for a place to open a Chapel for a short time while the project finish then Mr Gerald Spiteri offered without payments to use his property that was situated in the heart of Issuard street and with the help of volunteers the place was soon cleaned and changed in a Chapel and welcomed Jesus Sacraments on Sunday 22nd 1956.

The Title was chosen for the Chapel and the new Church was il Madonna Tad Dmugh during those days there was the miraculous sighting of our Lady in Sirausa in Sicily.

Work was progressing well on the building of the new church and was finished well under 4 years the church was blessed and opened for the public on the 10th December 1961 by Patri Felicjan Bilocca as a delegate of the Provincial because during that time was not a Kappillan of Marsa yet .

The church is 120 feet long and 45 feet high the design is simple at the same time modern. In the Middle sixties the authorities of the church felt that Marsa was divided with two Parishes because people moved to that location and was developing fast and they felt by making a new parish they the people of Marsa will be better served with smaller parish.

On 19th July Archbishop visited the zone and realised that this zone had a population of over 4000 people and on the 25th January 1967 he declared Madonna Tad Dmugh a new Parish The first Kappillan was taken by Patri Kalcidon Baldacchino O.F.M. Cao minn Haz Zabbar.

The first celebrated festa of Madonna Tad Dmugh was felt that was not proper for a Modern Parish especially because of the Briju of our Festa and in October 11th 1954 the Pope Piju XII declared Regina Tas Sema u Art this title was well liked and welcomed and Kappillan Baldacchino and committees on behalf of the Parish proposed to the Provincja Frangiskana Kapuccina and the Kurja.

The Band helped with making our Festa more popular and also Cultural and Social organisations to bond our festive and spiritual needs the Kappillan Kalcidon Baldacchino made plans by getting prominent groups together to form a Band Club with the help of Surmast Joseph Abela Scolaro F.L.C.M. with other interested parties but unfortunately this project because they could not find any premises to rent in our local area to open a Band Club.

During the 34 years of the Parish we had 4 Kappillani
Patri Kalcidon Baldacchino O.F.M Cap From 1/2/1967 To 31/1/1975
Patri Valent Calleja O.F.M Cap From 1/2/1975 To 19/6/1983
